onze Representing Henri IV as a Child by François Joseph Bosio

Effigy of the young Henry IV, two color bronze patina, signed Bosio on the base, following the model kept at the Louvre since 1829, in melted and hammered silver and of the same dimensions.
François Joseph Bosio (1768-1845) is a neoclassical sculptor in line with the great tradition of Canova, makes with this piece an incursion into Troubadour Art.
This model had enormous success throughout the 19th century.
Bosio received an order for two marbles, a silver statue and melted 12 bronzes.
Many of his most important sculptures and statues can today be found in the Louvre museum in Paris.

There is a hole for fixing the bronze base on a stone base.
