Bronze Buddha Statue in Rattanakosin Style, Late 19th Century

Bronze Buddha Statue in Rattanakosin Style
Late 19th Century Rama V's reign (1868–1910)
Buddha in lacquered and gilt bronze in the sitting position of Bhumisparsa, or gesture of the taking of the earth to witness (undoubtedly one of the most important in the Thai representation of Buddha, because it is the symbol of the victory of Mâra , Demon, and god of desires).
Buddha, in response, touches the earth, appealing to nature to bear witness to his resolution.
It is still placed on its pedestal, generally disconnected (this one has registers, practically illegible).
Eyes in mother-of-pearl, gold leaf worn on the face.
